SPINAL ALIGNMENT, DECOMPRESSION, AND PAIN RELIEF

Diversified

Diversified technique is a method commonly used by chiropractic providers to correct subluxations or misalignments of joints. It is a hands-on adjustment method that has shown to be beneficial in treating sports injuries. The diversified technique is a well-known adjustment method universally taught in chiropractic colleges. A detailed assessment, which may include x-rays and a complete physical exam that includes past medical history, is performed to determine mechanical distortions of the spine. Following a thorough and comprehensive assessment, Dr. Lawrence Burdette DC uses a hands-on technique to provide manual adjustment to correct areas in misalignment. His experience and skill aid you in obtaining a quick and effective recovery.

Cox Flexion

Cox Flexion Technique is a gentle adjustment method used to provide relief from leg and lower back pain. The goal of using this method is to place the spine into proper alignment. When the spine is maintained in a proper position, pressure on the nerves is decreased and pain relief is often immediate.

Thompson

Thompson Technique is a chiropractic method that is a variant of the Diversified Technique. A specialized table is used to effectively assist with the delivery of thrust maneuvers. This specific table has several segments (drop pieces) that can be adjusted. Use of this drop table minimizes the required force needed for an adjustment.

Low Force Technique

Low-Force Technique is a gentle approach using low amplitude palpation and motion to effectively align the spine. This low-force method is especially useful when dealing with a patient who has suffered an injury. Gentle palpation and motion are used to treat the problem areas and the technique is quite effective in relieving pain.

Full Spine Technique

Full Spine Technique is a chiropractic method used to align the entire spine. It is a hands-on motion palpation technique that adjusts the spine from the neck down. Full spine alignment has shown to decrease neck, mid back, and lower back pain.

Trigger Point Massage Therapy (soft tissue therapy)

A trigger point is a painful area that can develop in an injured muscle. This painful point can remain long after your body has recovered from an injury. Pain, numbness, or tingling can be felt at the trigger point or may be felt in other body areas. Treatment for trigger points involves deep direct pressure massage to alleviate the knotted muscle.

Flexion Distraction Technique

Flexion Distraction Technique is a hands-on nonsurgical method that uses precise flexion and distraction methods to increase spinal motion and resolve disc bulges or herniation. It is commonly practiced to alleviate lower back pain, extremity pain, and neck pain associated with cervical radiculopathy. Cervical radiculopathy is a condition where the nerves exiting the spine become pinched or compressed by surrounding structures. Flexion Distraction Technique helps improve range of motion and flexibility of muscles and joints.

Manual Adjusting

Manual Adjustments are done using hands-on techniques to provide proper body alignment. A chiropractic provider uses skill and proficiency to perform spinal manipulation to make adjustments to the spine to decrease pressure and align the body.

Mechanical Traction Therapy

Mechanical Traction Therapy is used to gently stretch the spine. The use of weights or pulleys applies a gentle force to allow for proper space between spinal vertebrae. This method is effective for decreasing compression on the spinal nerves.

Electrical Stimulation Therapy

Electrical Stimulation Therapy is an innovative and effective way to relieve pain. Electrodes are placed strategically to deliver a mild electrical current to stimulate muscles and underlying tissues. This allows for tense muscles to relax and decreases inflammation. Electrical stimulation combined with massage therapy is proven to reduce pain.

Ultra Sound Therapy

Ultrasound Therapy uses therapeutic sound waves to decrease inflammation and reduce joint stiffness and pain. Ultrasound Therapy promotes circulation. It may also be used with therapeutic massage, stretching, or chiropractic manipulation.
